Kaslo has a population of roughly 1000 and is the largest community on the main body of Kootenay Lake. Kaslo is a hub for arts and recreation, and the village has seen improvements to its downtown core in recent years with the renovation of the Kaslo Hotel and the addition of the Angry Hen brewery. New housing starts in the village have also experienced an uptick in recent years.
